Little Red Schoolhouse 2015

On Thursday, May 21st, we traveled back in time to learn what it was like to be a student at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Nashua. Built in 1841, it served as Schoolhouse #1 for 80 years! Now each spring, fourth graders attend the schoolhouse under the Schoolmarm, Mrs. Fineman, and learn exactly what it was like to be a student well over 100 years ago! Check out all the fun we had!

Fractions, Fractions, Fractions

At this point in the school year, fractions takes over much of our time in math. We will continue to review multiplication and division as we move into fractions. Fractions can be easy to understand, especially if students know their multiplication facts. Keep studying!Below if a video that will be shown in class to introduce fractions. It gives a nice overview of some of the expectations of this unit. Feel free to review it for yourself!

Farms to Factories

On Thursday, February 19th the PTO brought the program, Farms to Factories, into the fourth grade classrooms. This program, through the Lowell Historical Society, taught the students how towns like Lowell and Nashua went from farming communities to larger cities through the Industrial Revolution and emerging technologies. This fun and hands on program prepared the students for the next unit in Social Studies: New Hampshire! Check out all of the fun we had below:
